About us

ESCAPE is an environmental information, reference and pressure group drawing attention to sewage pollution issues, infrastructure failures, reporting and information systems.

We keep our members up to date and work with South West Water, The Environment Agency, East Devon District Council, Exmouth Town Council and others to bring about change in order to improve the quality of our bathing water throughout the year measured by a rigorous regime of water quality testing and reporting.

We aim to achieve reductions in sewage pollution events year round for Exmouth well ahead of government and water company stated target dates.

We are also also campaigning for clear national standards for reporting of bathing water quality and pollution alert systems so that water and beach users can make informed decisions about using the beach and water safely.

Our focus is primarily the Exmouth and surrounding area for bathing water quality and sewage overflow reduction but national for information and alert systems.
